Thread: SDTA flat track race on a 3/8mile stock car track. May 17th in Ocala, FL

    SDTA flat track race on a 3/8mile stock car track. May 17th in Ocala, FL

    This is an SDTA (Southern Dirt Track Association) event. Last years SFTL is now the SDTA and this will be the first time the league races on this track. Its a BIG 3/8 mile stock car track that will let you open it up as far as you want to go.

    Any of you guys interested in coming and checking it out? I'll more then likely be there with the 500, maybe even my TRX to run the knobbie class with or something not sure yet. Anyone?

    Race date is Saturday, May 17th
    Gates Open at 10 am
    Practice at 12 pm
    Racing starts at 2 pm



    From points south of Ocala via I-75

    Take the SR-326 exit, exit number 358.
    Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp.
    Turn RIGHT onto FL-326. (0.7 miles)
    Turn LEFT onto CR-25A. (NW Gainesville Road) (0.9 miles)
    Track is located on the LEFT.

    From points north of Ocala via I-75

    Take the SR-326 exit. #358
    Turn LEFT onto FL-326. (0.7 miles)
    Turn LEFT onto CR-25A. (NW Gainesville Road) (0.9 miles)
    Track is located on the LEFT.

    From points south of Ocala via 441/301

    Turn LEFT onto SR-326. (1.7 miles)
    Turn RIGHT onto CR-25A. (NW Gainesville Road) (0.9 miles)
    Track is located on the LEFT.

    From points north of Ocala via 441/301

    Turn RIGHT onto SR-326. (1.7 miles)
    Turn RIGHT onto CR-25A. (NW Gainesville Road) (0.9 miles)

    If my new swinger is done by then I'm down, I'll just borrow some flat track tires or just stick with my knobbies.. That track is just opposite of thunderbowl so it's not far at all

    Yea if they let us run the trikes in the knobbies class I'd be good for that.. I still haven't done my shock, money hasn't been on the good side so other priorities came first.. If worst comes to worst would you have a spare shock to loan me? I might hunt ebay for a stocker that is cheap for now if not.

    update I just got some duro 20 11 10's for the bike so I know own some flat track tires haha I think these should work out well because I hear Ocala speedway is HUGE and the top end is important.. some of the big doggs are hitting over a 100 on the main stretch i heard

    Guys I'm going to bed. I'll be at the track around 1030-11am. Practice starts at noon time. Would love to see some of you other FL guys out there, just come on out and spectate, stop in say hey for a bit. Check it out and see what you think.

    When I get out of work I might shoot that way to spectate, I also have to get some new wheels and tires mounted before this local shop closes so I'll play it by ear.. All i know is I'm really bummed about me having to work, my new shock not being here until monday, and yea not being able to finally make a race!

    If I can't make it, good luck buddy, give em hell on the 500 and I'm sure I'll be hearing stories around here at my buddies shop haha
