Prices: anything under 1500.00 is a great buy. I would expect to pay 2-2500 for something that's mint and 100% gone over/freshly done...

I'd say the only thing to look for is my car in the driveway when you drop it off. LOL

bad stator, missing right shroud, missing headlight, missing brakes, missing coolant overflow tank, blown shock, and cracks at the down tube behind the foot pegs.

all the missing parts are hard to find and expensive

check the bolts on the swingarm that hold the bearing carrier they strip out sometimes. the rear shocks are usually blown. if its an 87 they are worth alot i sold mine for 3900. then again it was a factory race wheeler with a prototype exhaust and a 300 JP engine.

well the plastics are readily availible for the 86/7 t3's. hornet powersports makes repro shrouds and headlight covers, chaplin has the front and rear fenders, and i believe dc plastics is working on an 86/87 tankcover similiar to the 84/85 tank covers. so cosmetically you can replace whats broken. check the swinger bolts and carrier like mentioned, the normal bearings in the triples, swinger, rear axle, and front hub, look for leaks on the rear shock and forks.
