camcorder to usb? Need technical advice

I have an older camcorder and found a way to upload it to my computer. I'm sure alot of you already know about this or do this but I found a couple of items on amazon I was looking at:

I was wondering if anybody could offer any reccomendations on thes? Or any others? What do you guys use? I would like to start using my camera some more to make vids so any insight or input is greatly appreciated

only thing I'm worried about is the sound and video matching up, prolly not a problem. Are these worth getting, or is there something else I need to look at? Not looking to buy a digital camcorder or spend lots of money. I do have a digital camera that will take video but the camcorder is easier to shoot video with and I think it will take a better beating than the digi camera will
