will a trx 450r rear shock fit 85 86 250r or can it be moded , will the rear axle fit to

I believe the guys that ran them used a lowering link. I've also read that people seem to prefer using the 86 R shock with the 450R swingarm.

DC, can you explaing that a little more in depth, I am new to the whole 250R setup and thinking about trying a 450R swinger on my 86 250R. I will have to use the 450R bearing cariier and axle I am assuming, so might as well use the rear brake also? Tell moe more about the lowering link. I need to understand how and what makes the suspension work.
