    86 honda 250sx - whats it worth?

going to look at this 250sx tomorrow, just wondering how much you guys would pay for it, the only things wrong with it is the elec start isnt working and he said the kick starter doesnt return by itself so u have to lift it with your foot, i think he might have mentioned something about it "jumping a tooth" whatever that would mean, he said its not a big deal but im not familiar with kick starters at all, anyone know what he meant and if its an easy fix? did they make a rear cargo rack that bolts on the 86's or would i have to fab one? last question, i hate the white 86 gas tank, will a 85 250sx one fit without modification or whats my other options? anyway heres the descripition pics..

Clean,Runs Good. Needs a little TLC.Aluminum Rear Wheels w/great tires.Front is ok cond. Metal tank no rust.

if you get it, i will trade you a red tank for the white tank. 85 will fit

i would say that the return spring in the kicker is broke.

trike looks to be in top condition in pics. 1200-1500.

what are they asking for it? if you are mechanically inclined the kicker shouldn't be a prob.

Who the hell would want the red tank? That white tank looks awesome!

If they don't know what they've got, $500. If they do, $800-$1200. That's a good looking SX.

I have to say, I do like the 86/87 color scheme. It gives it the sportier look. That is a good deal for sure, for 5/600$.

yea i picked up the sx, ended up getting it for $480 + $130 in gas so i ended up paying about $610 total for it its in pretty nice shape, not as good as the pics looked but it is still nice, the kicker isnt that big of a deal it just doesnt return by itself so u have to lift it, and i got the reverse and elec start working that same night, for the reverse all i had to do was screw the bolt in that connects the cable to the motor and it popped right in! and for the elec start we just took the switch apart touched the 2 wires together and it fired right up! i cant beleive the guy rode this for a year without elec start and reverse and they were both a 5 minute fix! gotta love deals from non-educated people (< to put it nicely) anyway, i took it out riding last night and she runs/rides great, however it was really muddy out so ill have to go give it a bath before i take pics but ill have them up shortly.
the only thing that confused me was i figured the SX's should be alot faster then my 83 big reds but i had my brother (weighs about 60 lbs less then me) riding my 83 big red with a cobra exhaust on it and i pulled on him the first 3 maybe 4 gears but after that he slowly creeped up and passed me, the SX is pretty stock as far as i know and the big red has cobra exhaust and 60 lb lighter rider so i guess that could even it up but i still thought the sx would be a lil faster - does this sound about right? im sure he would be long gone tho if he was on SX and i was on big red, with me weighing about 60 lbs more then him.. anyway ill go give her a quick bath then post some pics, be back shortly

keep the white tank, classic man. Dont turn your back on true honda trike classics
    Trikes:
    84 200s
    85 110
If at first i dont get it started, start pulling with the other hand till it hurts.

but if you want to get rid of the white tank, like i said i would trade you. i have a new red plastic tank with its first tank of gas in it, and i also have the original metal tank(works, but needs fixed).
what wheels and tires are on the rear?

That was an all out steal, i would have bought that site unseen for 500.00. Great score, and keep the 86 looks, or if you want a red tank store the white one it will be worth more that way. I feel the 86/7 SX's have their own look in the 'workhorse' honda atc market...

yea the white tank is already starting to grow on me, i think ill leave it on there.
the rear tires are Kenda Vipers, 22x11x8, not sure what the rims are.
heres the pics of it.. it sports a pretty bad spray bomb paint job on the motor but its alright, this is going to be a trail rider not a garage queen..
