I know that alot of guys use the cr500 frame. But how much would I have to modify, if I would use a 86 250R frame? Would it work?

Yes it can work, but its a lot of fab work. Look in the mad scientist lair for my thread called "My latest invention" for a complete walk through of what I went through for mine.
thanks alot
If you Talk to Kasey hes had the 500 for the longest Here on the boards. Ive riden it and it feels very sturdy and i dont think he went through nearly as much work as others go through to make it work. AND he rides the chit out of it, Its stayed to gether for the abuse he puts it thorugh.
it almost seems that it would be less work to use a cr500 frame ...??? but would the 250r swing arm bolt on?
probably should do some research ,,, both are alot of work,, both have advantages and disadvantages ,,, i been riding mine over 6 years ,, i love it everytime i ride it,,,, STILL,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Kasey what would you prefer using for the frame? I have been reading up on some, just not sure how i want to do it yet.
i dont mind the work...thats the fun part
mine is in a 250r frame ,, i have had no issues,,, 6 plus swinger ,,
Its a shame the R model ATC's were only sold with 250CC engines. They should have made 80, 125, 500 aswell as 250 just like they did with the CR
1985 Honda ATC200S
1994 Kawasaki Eliminator EL250
There was a ATC 500R ready for production actually. If trikes would have lasted another year it would have been released.
i would go with the R frame. it will be cheaper, easier, and look like a R if that is your goal.
prototype yes. brochures, no, to the best of my knowledge.
one of the members on here who was a honda racer got to test it back in the day.
even he admits that it was wayyyy to much power for the average joe.
