bought another one, 85 250sx

i'll delete my other thread. it's a running 85 250sx, paid $100 for it. the plastics are fubar and it needs a harness as it's pretty rigged up but it does run. i'm thinking maybe swap my 200x front end on it since the x is basicly just a semi complete roller. should make a good trail/pit bike, yes? here's the pics

Unless somebody's already changed the forks, it looks like you got a Big Red. The SX has straight forks all the way to the top of the triple tree. The Big Red uses those stubby forks. What's the tag say? SX or ES?

That is a SX with a ES fork set. Looks to me like you have your work cut out for you.

That does not look like an SX swinger either. Take a close look at it, but it does look like an SX frame??

Now that's something you don't see too often(like never), a set of BR forks on an SX? Why would someone do that? The only thing I can come up with is the SX front end was trashed & the guy had a BR roller laying around & switched the front ends, it actually looks kinda cool......

I'd say you did good. Those rear tires alone have to be worth that.

There should be an ID tag on the steering neck. It will tell the year & model number.

i used some brake fluid and cleaned the paint off the decals- 250sx was underneath. can anyone tell me what these numbers off the steering head mean?

That VIN would make it an '85 250SX.
