my 175 when i had it ran like a raped aped, passed my 200s up like it was standing still. It had an after market exhaust, oil injected no pre mix. The problem i had with it was, it would always go over back wards on me.

guess I better dust mine off and take some pics.

oh, and when I was running 22's on the back it would SMOKE my 86 200X, I changed to 18's and at trikefest on the muddy drag strip I lost to 200X man pretty bad. I would chalk it up to wheelspin though. It has a really hard powerband, and once it revs up its a pretty nasty little motor. Also, the auto clutch is certainly a handicap, but like I said I beat the snot out of my skinny little brother on the 200X so bad, and I was taunting him so much he got kinda upset!

There was a YT175 with a DT175 motor in it on ebay a while back. The seller said it was a direct bolt in swap. I forgot to ask if the kicker cleared the rear wheel or not.

I don't think it will, since the YT engine is practically part of the rear carrier. It doesn't look like it would clear the exhaust, either.

Here's a couple pics of mine when I first got it. Havent done much to it except straighten that front rack and add a set of OEM "batwing" footboards.

edog, how many bolts on the dt175 head? I wonder if you could put the yt175 head or head and cylinder on the dt175 lower end and make it work?

Yamaha lists the same base gasket P/N for the YT175 as the 77-81 DT125 and the 1981 DT175, so it should fit.
