    350X Engine Oil ?

What type oil is best for the engine and gears other than what the manual recommends?
    Thanks

    Cool Royal Purple FTW!

Personally, I'm running Royal Purple in mine. And no... Before anybody asks, I'm not having any problems with my clutch. (Am I, Itrike? )

I find that it really helps keep the temps down. For the riding I do, that's pretty important to me.

Try Mobil One Racing 4T 10w40, available lots of places, Auto Zone for one, you won't be disapointed. I agree with Gag Halfront, any oil, except an oil with the energy saving starburst symbol on it, will do fine. I've run Rotella T 15w40 diesel oil for a long time in the past and loved it, just recently switched to Castrol R4 in 5w40, but only cause I got my hands on two cases cheap.

I run Valvoline 10W40 from Walmart for about 12$ per 5 quarts.

My clutch is perfect, my shifts are perfect and it doesn't smoke a puff....

I put HP4 (the gold one) in all the bikes. Its all in preference, for several years i rode it jsut about everyday never had any tranny problems or clutch problems. The bike has been ed. Key is to keep it clean change it alot and you wont have any problems.

That's the real deal as I have experienced it. I use pretty-good to very good oil and can tell a difference in shift smoothness as the oil starts to degrade. A quick change and shift quality is back to normal. Time between shift degredation varies between machines, but it is always a reminder to change the oil when shift feel goes south. And if you put in new oil and it isn't shifting like you want, change it to something else. Different bikes seem to prefer different oil as far as shifting is concerned.
