    definitive answer on hub ?

I bought an axle from an 84 250r to swap into my 86 200x. Now I know that it will be 4" wider but I would like to know what my options for hubs are. Are the 84 250r hubs the same as the 86/7 200x hubs? Are there any other years/models that will work?

Also, does anyone know if my caliper/rotor etc. from my 86 200x will work or will I need parts from the 84 250r?

Thanks folks. I'm looking forward to getting this thing going.

Did you mean 4x110? All the 250R's and 200X's used 4x110.
    '83-85 200X, 250ex,300ex, 400ex, and I beleive 450R hubs should work.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong?

Yes, I did mean 4x110. Sorry. So I can look for 83-84 250r or 83-85 200x hubs and they should work? Thanks for the info.

Yes, '83-84 250R, and '83-87 200X's use the same bolt pattern.

Heres a good site to use when you want to cross reference wheel sizes and bolt patterns:

I've got bolt pattern, I'm worried about spline count. The 83-85 200x's have a 24 spline axle and the 86/87 have a 25, so I've figured out in my reading. So the 83/84 should have a 24 spline axle along with the 300ex and 400ex, right?

I had 83-84 250r hubs on my 86 axle, the 86-87 has a 24 spline count you may have just mis counted.

or I don't have an 86 axle? I just counted again, still got 25. Hmm, scratches head. Well I have an 84 250r axle on the way and I need some hubs for it. We'll see what happens. If my one good hub will work then I don't need a pair.

I had 86/87 200x hubs on a 83/84r axle, not the same. Spline count is, but unless you use the 84/84r wheels you need to grind the bumps off it. I now use a durablue 83/84r axle and lsr 400ex hubs. Most of the honda quads and trikes, except for 85-89 trx/atc250r, 85/86 atc350x and I hear the first few years trx250x, interchange. With the 83/84r axle you will need to get a sprocket for it, axle locknuts and the sprocket hardware. The 83/84r stock sprocket was something like a 41t, sidewinder and sprocket specailists sell a lower tooth count sprocket.
