Hi folks, booked a 7 night holiday in Vegas (in the Bellagio) - has anyone been before? Always wanted to go and never been to the states before so any hints/tips/info/stories would be great

dude you will have the time of your life!!! VEGAS is a great place to have a good time,,, i was there last weekend take some comfortable walking shoes!! and a water bottle ... if you get a chance take the DUECE to fremont street!! its a 3 mile ride and believe me!! its a great time ,, just do it at night trust me on this one!!! we go at least 3 times a year... but 5 this year since we are only 5 hours away

If you have time go to Hoover Dam. I wasnt impressed by it, I wouldnt go out of the way to see if unless you have time to. Hit a show or two, thats the only thing I regret not doing along with taking a helicopter ride over the strip at night.

I think Vegas sucks personally, of course, I was born and raised there so it was never really, or still isn't a big deal to me. Most people not born/raised there seem to enjoy visiting it though.

I was born, raised, and still live here! I agree with JD the locals take it for granted, but for visitors its an awesome place to see.... we have alot to offer within a few hours journey.
Hoover Dam 45 minutes
The Grand Canyon Sky Walk 3 hours
The Colorado River
all the Famous casinos
lots of racing events
lots of shows
Dumont Dunes 2.5 hours
ect. ect. ect.
