    Valve replacement

I have an '83 Honda 185s which i am rebuilding. I replaced the valves after consulting with someone about how to do it. I lapped the valves and everything...although the honda repair manual says not to lap the valves or it will cause almost instant valve failure... What is this about? its already done so am i at any real risk to have valve failure. The new valves were from Vesrah . Thanks in advance guys

when you lap the valves you destroy the surface sealign edge on the valves. the old days you needed to, but ne wvalves do not need it and your not suppsoed too.

2nd your better off getting a valve job on the head then haviong the valves installed.

i've been trying to get others to do it, i have a machien shop that is willing to do 185/200 heads for us at $150 a head. that's a CNC valve job with very minor porting to the lower port area near the seat. it makes a big difference that's for sure. the palce is called endyn

    i wouldn't worry about it.
The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.
