Good to hear there is progress, Pat did you figure out what parts you are having polished or powdered coated?

I'll have to have the frame powdercoated, but I would like to get the swinger polished.

With all this cold weather and snow and stuff, things have ground to a stand still. What I really need is to get my snowshovel polished or at least teflon coated or something hi tech like that so the snow doesn't stick to it so much. Man, don't thrash the new guy too bad, he doesn't know any better. LOL I've been on here for a while now and still crash some peoples threads. I don't mean any harm by it though and I don't think the new guy did either. Heck, if the new guy lived closer, I would invite him over to help shovel and I'd work on his yt for him. LOL If this snow ever stops, I'll get back to blue27s' house to get all my bearings and seals and get the "Milkman" to help me button this puppy back up and see about getting it fired up. Now that Louie is a big time mod, I don't know if he has any time for us little people any more! LOL I'm sure he's busy shoveling and trying to get the crf250 project going now. I've noticed with all this snow though, I haven't been getting any mail. I guess rain or snow or dark of night now stops the post office in its' tracks. I need a small bulldozer down here! LOL I guess I better quit torturing everyone and go shovel some more snow, I'm almost to the truck!

Dang! I was thinking the YT was finished & you got a "NOSsome" Yamaline snow plow for the driveway & you were gonna give us the play by play(or the "plow by plow"?) with pics, DANG!
Not a big time mod, just a small part time mod trying to help out when I can. Most haven't noticed but I've been a mod for a while now, I just try to do my part and not make a show about it, I'd rather work behind the scenes, least that's what I try to do.
Just gime a call or a PM Pat and we'll make an afternoon of putting that engine back together. I'm planning on bringing a case of solvent, a bottle of assembly lube and some white gloves. I like to assemble my engines clean clean clean, so clear off the kitchen table. haha! I have a whole box of tri-moto parts for you and I need to return the bassani as I'm finished with it. We'll get together once snowmagedeon has rolled out.
"Yes its broken, but does that really surprise you?."
"What happened? What does it look like happened?!?!"
I know you've been a mod for awhile now, I just had to crack on ya a little to show you that I haven't forgot about you. This snow is for the birds isn't it? I realize this is everyday life for some parts of the country, but not around here. I just saw a thread on another forum I post on about a neat little baking soda cleaner. I'll have to rig something like it up, it's pretty cool. It will be nice to get this beast going again and see what she'll do. You have to get a modded engine for your racer going. Best of luck with the 200x project.

Hey Vealmonkey, I pulled the dt engine apart today and it looks as though the clutch assembly from that will go into the yt engine with minimal fuss. I will post up some photo's tomorrow if i have enough time
If you find that all that fits, that would be pretty cool and help alot of people out. The more people trying things, the more we know that either works or doesn't. Keep up the good work and I have my fingers crossed for you.

I don't think you will be able to use the DT clutch becaues the shaft that operates the clutch in the DT bottom end runs through one of transmission gear shafts, as were the YT transmission gear shaft is not hollow so the shaft would not be able to work the clutch.

Well, here are the latest developments. Firstly, I found and scored my Fifth (5th) Pro Tec swingarm kit. The only exception being that this one has the elusive chain roller with it. It's the main reason why I wanted to buy it. The kit is already slated to go to a lucky member on here, I'm just in the process of fabbing up a decent chain roller. This chain roller was in kind of sad shape. It's originally made of aluminum, bad choice, buy my new bracket is made from steel. I'm just getting it finalized up now and I will make templates to send for the people who bought the Pro Tec kits from me. Hopefully the universal spring loaded chain rollers will provide an adequate roller to use for this application.
On another seperate note, I will be selling my Pro Tec 175 project to a different lucky member on here. The project has just sat and stalled too long. The new owner definitely has the enthusiasm to see this project the rest of the way through and doesn't have other projects weighing him down. He will remain the mystery member until he wishes to step up and reveal himself, which I'm sure he will once he picks the trike and all the extra parts up. He will be making a big haul back home to say the least. The money can go towards other projects that I have going on, which are many. LOL Best of luck to the new owner.

My Tri Moto 175 has a stock rear suspension in it is this rare?
Nope, Stock rear suspensions were quite common! LOL Yes the Pro Tec kits are kind of what you might call rare. Even though I have found 5 now. LOL

Veal,I thought all the yt125/175's were hardtails?

they were hard tails. If it has a swingarm type rear suspension, its most likely a pro-tec kit. Im not sure what other manufacturers made kits for it but they are all hard-tails from the factory.

I have never heard of a stock 175 rear suspension, but veal knows more than me in this area i would imagine. Hey veal, ever thought of putting bigger reeds into your 175?
