Actually the first time I ever heard it used, and used often to the point that it became catchy and everyone used it, was by Willie (86waterpumper) in chat about 6-7 years ago. I believe it was actually a typo for "aircooler" since the C and F keys are so close on the keyboard. And, its kind of humorous, so it just seemed to have stuck.

The other was to Raffa on his tri-z. He and Raffa raced three times that night, Raffa won the first one and 1upfront won the next two. However 1upfront's 300r did beat tecat-z in a practice round but being a 300 it ran in the mod class.
Yep i have to say......... the 300 has some ferocious top end. We actually have that practice run on video. At roughly 2/3 down, he reeled me in and was gone. Good stuff guys. Hope to see ya at Three Rivers next month.

We are going to take his clutch to the machine shop this week to get a few things changed. Hopefully this time it will last more than two race days. We should be good to go by then.

Billy that makes more sense than anything I've heard so far.

I doubt that there is a reason. It's just something people say and repeat what other people say.

    Exactly..............
And Water Pumper shouldn't need to be explained

The fins on an air cooled motor aren't air foils.

The fins are designed to increase the area that the air movin past can act on. Im not sure why but i've heard lots of people call em air foils, which is why i think the term comes from ignorance. In a way i guess the do direct air flow alittle.

After reading Billy's post, thats prolly where it started.
