I stand behind this. I bought a US90 a while back. It came with some 3x100 wheel hubs. I dumped the shot tires for about $25 each and bough new wheels and tires from Dennis Kirk. I think I have about $450 into a solid rider. Starts with just a pull or two and is a lot of fun.
If you want to check the tires, try to find the specified outside circumference to determine if they are shot. Mine were and the last thing I'd want to do is go out and spend more on tires than the bike cost.
