    1971 Honda US90 - Parrot Green

So i've been in a trike buying mood lately. Picked up an '86 Big Red last week for $400. Decent shape. Needed a battery, rear wheel bearings, and some paint. It's a work in progress.

I wanted to see what else people had for sale so I posted a "Wanted: 3 Wheelers" ad on a local classifieds site and got a few responses. One guy has a 1971 Honda US90. He says it runs good. The body is a little rough. What do you think it would be worth? He wants $400 for it.

I've seen just the tires go for more than $400, sounds like a good deal to me.

    claw

I belive the claw is a handle to detach the front forks, as these things were collapsable, I think the rear axel was even removable.

Apparently you're able to tear it down and put it in the back of your Mercedes.
    see brochure:
    http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/B...e/70atc90.html

He didn't say if he was firm on the price. He just mentioned about a tire alone going for $1000 on ebay and that it's a collectors item.

If the tires are in good shape with NO or little dry rot (little cracks in the tires) Then they alone are worth over $400! Is the fiberglass in good shape? any cracks? The rear fenders are worth a bit as well as the tin front fenders (ANY rinkles in the tin?) Id offer $300 and go from there...Im a wheeler dealer lol!

The front fender has a couple wrinkles in it.. and the rear fender appears to have a crack in it. He said all the tires hold air and it starts on the first pull.
I think i'll go check it out in person. I've only seen pictures of it.
I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I'd buy it sight unseen...if it were closer! it's a good deal, but I'd still offer him like 250 or so for it. Most people don't know what they have!

I had a chance to buy one a few weeks ago. It was baby blue, all there and very very restorable. Rear fender needed a repair, but the tires looked ok and held air. All for 300 or 375 bones, cant remember which. It was at a swap meet locally.
I know I could have made some cash on the tires, but then what? I would have a 90 sitting around without tires and wheels that needed a restore, and for all of you that know me, I DO NOT believe in parting trikes unless a restore is almost impossible. Pick that thing up and restore it! VintageMotorsports knows quite a bit about these machines.
