All I can say is talk to both of them together about your feelings. That way no one goes behind the other one's back. If you can do that without losing your cool, it will show them both that you are trying to be a young adult and it may help your relationship.

Get your stepmom to ride it, and if she doesn't know how to ride, the problem will kind of work itself out.

Then again, that would be the end of your trike days. I bought my first trike when I was 18, and my parents didn't like it, but I'm 31 now with 2 ATCs and a boatload of parts in MY garage. Dang, I love these things!!

Let the quad rot, ride the 110. In a few weeks they will see it's fine (as long as you don't do anything dumb ) and everything should be ok. You'll have more fun on the trike anyways, unless the quad is a 4x4, then it's pretty close!

It always kills me when I see parents (and I've seen this more than once) balking at a 10 year old little Johnny on an atc 70 or 110, then let the kid jump on dad's 800 cc thundercat and take off without a helmet and they don't say a word!!!

well, you got to do what you got to do. for me i had to to keep my old 200S at a friends house and not tell my parents about it. that was when i was 15... but its not that great of a way. Especially when they find out
    My current bikes:
    '84 250R- mostly stock
'85 200X- motors built to the max
    '85 350x- the P.O.S. needs everything

Sandrion- I know this isn't what you want to hear, but don't play your dad and your stepmom against each other. Stepmoms are people too. My wife is my son's stepmom, and she's often more strict than me. Sometimes we disagree, but if I heard my son talking that way about her, I'd whip his butt bigtime. He's only 7, so that's not likely to happen for a few years. What I'm saying is that you need to talk to both of them and see if you can convince them that you can be responsible with a trike. If they say no, you just might have to wait. Ask your dad if he'll at least help you fix your quad, so you're not left without a ride.

Darn those grownups...they always stick together!

Having said all that, I do hope you can work it out and get the 110, it's a great trike!

When I brought my first trike home my dad and my step mom freaked (I was 16). I got on, started it and popped it into gear and it knocked me on my ass. I got right back on and did it again. They told me to bring it back, and I did.

I traded it for a CR500, and I took off down the street on it. When I got stopped for going about 85 in a 35, I was told to get the trike back...lol

I have crashed more on bikes and buggies, than my 200x

Oddly, i never get the urge to put my foot down on my 250R. and i jump back and fourth from dirtbikes to the R to quads often many times a day, it just has never been an issue.

you should have heard EVERYONE in my family when i brought the R home.......
everyone still thinks i am going to die, even though i ride it often.
they still give me crap, but they arent aways on my case anymore.

i have ate it harder and more often on my KX80 than my R, BUT i ride dirtbikes like a madman, and i keep her right on the EDGE of being able to control it.

I do not agree with Step Mom taking your money(even though she means well). Thats coddling/control your a young man and part of learning to be responsible is learning the hard way. You earn it on your own you spend it on your own...Now this goes for everything like going to the movies, games(x-box/ps), bike parts, hobbies and extras you like doing. When X-mas comes you spend your earned money on gifts for all others not her money right? Kinda funny she saves half...isn't that what woman want when things don't work out? You need to be diplomatic with her...do not piss off the oldman. I agree you should sit them both down and discuss your side of it in front of them both. She can have an opinion and should give direction based on being an adult. I do feel she should not be the law and punisher...thats Dads job. Her input is valid but Dad is the law maker. Be respectful and discuss the reason why you feel the need to buy the trike vs the quad fix. Dad my not see the improtance of getting the quad running in the way you do...Good luck kid, just keep your temper and don't put yourself in a position where your inbetween the step mom and your Dad.
