Well worth the asking price if everything checks out good. Be sure to check the rear bearings for slack and check the differential. Take the filler plug out of the differential when you check it to be sure the oil looks good. You should be able to replace the front fender and have the seat repaired for around $150

I figured as much in terms of checking the gear oil and for smoke. did you guys go to the ebay site and check it out? It has OEM fenders but they are cracked

Huntingfor1- i am still somewhat of a newbie here in terms of trikes and you said check the bearings for slack...how do i go about doing this and what does it take to replace them?

Get on the bike(standing up) and lean both ways side to side lightly and feel for play in the rear end and swing arm. You'll feel a loose clicking, clunking?OEM carrier is hard to come by, but the rest is easy from sevice honda. Sounds like a good deal anyways. Parts are worth more than that. BEETS

Best way to check is to ride it and you'll know. any wobble or grinding noise usually means there's some bad bearings some where.

or you can just grab it by one end of the handle bars and try wobbling it back and forth. you'll be able to notice any excessive play that way aswell.

Thats usually the first thing that I'll change on a trike like this anyways. 20+ years of mud and dirt.. they'll all have to be changed soon anyways.

I usually check the bearings by standing at the back of the bike and holding my finger on the axle housing where it meets the wheel hub and rocking the bike side to side. This way seems to work better for me. Like Chris200x said, afer 20 years, something is going to wear out. I just bout a bike that I got a realy good deal on but didn't check the rear diff oil real close. It didn't make any funny noises or show any symptoms of anything being wrong but come to find out every bearing and seal in the differential and rear axle was toast. I got real lucky that it didn't tear up any gears but a $60 bearing and seal kit took care of the problems.

I am going tomorow at 930 to go look at it. I talked to the guy today and he said he doesnot know about the rear dif. oil. He has had it 5 months and never changed it so i assume its probably due for a change. The tires are pretty decent but the one has a plug in it. Not a big deal? The choke cable is busted and the starter button is missing but i can deal with that. he said runs great and doesnt smoke. It does need brakes. I am going to check the bearings first thing and that gas tank.

    Any more thoughts are welcome!
