    tecate clutch problems

the clutch release shaft does not slide through the case freely, so when i bolted up the new clutch it wasn't fully engaging, took it out last weekend to ride anyways and the clutch is really slipping now. just wondering if anybody had some ideas what could be wrong and tips to fix before i tear it apart again.

    thanks

If the shaft isn't bent and you tried another shaft with the same results, then I'd say that the cases are somehow tweaked. Probably wouldn't take much to cause a problem with the shaft.

This might sound crazy, but I have an idea. Buy a drill bit the same diameter as the clutch release shaft and slowly drill out the hole slowly, carefully. Hopefully this will true-up the hole and let the shaft slide freely.
