My $200 85 250R Craigslist find

Found this trike up in Oswego NY and after a 150 or so mile trip this morning I brought home what resembles a 85R. The guy said it is complete exept for rear wheels. I am sure some other minor odds and ends are missing. Trike is in really rough shape and looks like it has been sitting outside for quite some time. bottom end is filled with leaves and dirt and lots o rust all over.This trike will get restored in time but not right away. I have to get the 86 done first. Let me know what you guys think.Sorry for the blurry pic....

UH......SCORE!!!!!!!

wish I could find a 250r roller for that kinda $$ around here...let alone what looks like it`s nearly complete

did you get the tank (I see one shroud), fenders, or seat?

I did not receive any fenders and the seat has good foam but a ripped cover. I also got the faded tank and both shrouds. Brakes are all there but probably need work. Actually all the parts need some reconditioning but for $200 I couldn't turn it down.

Part that poor trike out and use the proceeds to buy a running one. That's what I would do. Sweet find though! I'm jealous.

Sweet. I'm gonna look at a running 85 250R in a few hours and the seller is only asking $700! I dont know any other details but I can't imagine its too nice. I paid $400 for my first one and it ran, it wasnt that nice and I ended up selling it for $650, still kick myself for that. Oh well I have my chance to make it right! Ha ha

Blown, How did you make out with the one you were going to look at? I think I am going to start collecting little parts lots for this 85.

I guess I made out ok. I went to look at it and it was an 84! lol. I bought it anyway. I'll make a new thread about it.

I looked the trike over and am going to part out. I am re-doing the motor and keeping as a spare and parting the rest out.
