85 250R amount of tranny oil in ounces at oil change

I know the engine check bolt should level it off, but does anyone know how many ounces should be poured into a 85 250R at a periodic change? I'm thinking about 22 ounces.
    Thanks

My manual says .62 US quarts (32 oz in a qrt) at periodic change....so 20oz is what I thinking is the amount of tranny oil that goes in a 250R on a routine change. I serched the board and found people thinking its as much as 26 ounces and as little as 18.

Just drain it and fill it until it comes out of the oil level check plug. I don't see why knowing a precise amount in ounces is nessesary and thats probably why that info is not readily available.

The reason I want to know is that I don't always trust the oil check bolt. I've heard of mfgs having issues with them in their accuracy. Plus if the bike does not sit at the stock angle like the preload is adjusted or the whatever could cuase a unlevel reading. Justed wanted to double check since it is a 23 year old rig.
