I was wondering if someone ever try to install the complete top end setup from a trx300 (not 300ex) on the 250sx,the top end look like to be the same except for the 300cc.The engine is very very similar....

yes someone has tried and yes it can be done, search for the thread 300sx and you'll find a guy who did it to his sx and it tell's all you have to do if you want to do that swap.
I think is screename is Jason T. He installed a complete TRX 300 engine in a 250sx

if I'm not mistake the 300 and 250 have different strokes.
yes they do have diffrent strokes, same bore, but diffrent stroke. that's why there's no sense in just changing over the top end, unless you want to run a high comp piston they're easier to find for the trx 300, HOWEVER you can note use a 300 piston in a 250 becuase of where they placed the wrist pin, if anyone out there has a 2wd trx 300 motor i'm lookin for one to put in my sx.
