OK, please tell me what the big deal is over the Selvy's pipe?

I just bought a 86 250r and have been hounded over it since I posted the pictures. Who the hell is Selvy?

Not trying to be erogant, just never heard of this guy. The guy I bought it off of said his buddy made the pipe. So what the heck?
The bike was in Placentia Ca.

Kind of odd when people start offering you $3000 for a bike that is really selling for $1000

DO NOT send any thing to whats his face (dirt-face/crasher) here on the board. What a scum bag. He screwed (stole) money from me and screwed me on my ME360 and Hondaline 300R engine rebuilds.

Finally Coupe, you started listing your Tigers in your signature and giving me a better idea although most of what you listed I already factored in the registry. I Didnt know about your low hr fatty front end until I saw you post that recently.

BTW the pipe on that 250r is a work of art and that 86 appears to be a low hour machine which can fetch that kind of money easy in other areas of the country besides Cali....maybe more....thats why your being offered it.

Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.

That is an awsome pipe. But without the high HP needed, the pipe is useless.

Sorry Ninja, not to hijack your thread.

Are you sure about that? I've never seen a Bill's pipe that looks like a Selvys. Please elaborate.

That's very true, If that cylinder isn't ported for that pipe, it's kind of a waste. That is a friggin clean R, very nice, I love 86s!

Thanks! The guy did say they did a piston to it about five years after he bought it from the dealer. I have yet to fire her up. Bought it in a not running condition. Previous owner swears it was in good running condition and all he did was store it, so carb must be gunked up. However the throttle cable operates smoothly, so it must not be too bad.

I am having kind of a hard time finding good oil to mix with the gas. Can't seem to find anything but Golden Spectro or the Kreagan Vavoline and Castrol 2t for ATV's. Seems to be kind of cheap to me, $4 a quart. GS is $8.

Anybody know of a common retailer that has good mixing oil for the gas?

Oh one more thing, if that's true about the piston, so when my top end goes, sure it will sooner or later, this pipe will work with a 310 big bore kit?
