I picked up this nice gem the other day in a local find.I went to orginally go look at a Big Red,which was in reality a ATC 125M ,and I see the '74 ATC 70 tank on another machine. So I ask's him ,"Hey where's the machine that ,the tank came off of ",pointing at the '74 ATC 70 tank, and he say's down the street at his in-law's.Next thing ,we're loading my new '74 atc 70 & the mity "supposed Big Red", which was the 125M in my truck.
The story goes that the 70 did'nt have any compession,so they took off the topend thinking it was a piston ring ,when it wasin reality a stuck valve, and they did'nt know how it went back together.Amazingly the '74 is in really good shape, other than the motor issue .All the plastic's look orginal and you can see where the decal's recently started peeling.Footpeg's ,guard's,seat pan ,muffler ,tank, all in good shape .
So this make's a nice addition to my ATC 70's, I'm gonna keep this one as my new camp ride ,for all the future gathering's I think, and it is for sure gonna be making Trikefest this coming year. Not as a basement racer eitherI gotta go thru it better but I'd like too keep it orginal, just spruce it up a bit.

There's nothing like the sound of screaming 2strokes and the smell of race gas in the air
