I didn't anything today yet, I might take a drive around the yard later on. We got about 2-3 inches of snow yesterday, so I pulled my brother and his friends around the yard on a sled, and spun a few circles with my 200m.
I gotta say - hat's off to all you tuners who can make these old strokes run and run good.
I just went out and pulled the carb - took it apart and cleaned it all up. Noticed the slow/pilot jet was clogged (held it up to the light and couldn't see through it) - I was so happy! This MUST be why my trike won't idle. Right?
Nope. Cleaned it all out - could see through it just fine. Reinstalled the carb and fired the bike up - no idle. Stay on the throttle just a 'lil' and it idles great.
Freaking idle screw and air screw don't do anything.
I just don't know anymore.
I pulled the carb off the 200 for a rebuild. Changed the oil in both with an experimental tailor made motor oil. I've gone hi-tech.

Raise (or drop? I cant remember) the clip a notch on your needle and then try adjusting the screws.I gotta say - hat's off to all you tuners who can make these old strokes run and run good.

98% of Americans say 'OH $#!T!!' before going into a ditch on an icy road. The other 2% are Alaskans, and they say 'Here, hold my beer and watch this!!'
Thanks. It's running a bit better with the needle in the middle position.
Didn't do much today - but needed more Amsoil and had to travel out of town to pick up the new Guns N Roses album - so - I bought a couple things.
As you can see, my dog just LOVES the smell of Amsoil.
Amsoil - the 2-stroke mix recommended by 4 out of 5 German Shepherds!
Went out to the shed to play with my new toys.
Finally checked the air pressure in all my bike's tires. They were all off!
Installed new fuel lines and the FLUX CAPACITOR!!!11one!! - umm, I mean inline fuel filter on the R. Gapped all my spark plugs and then checked compression on my R.
140lbs of compression.
i started to sand blast the parts for the 250r i'm building
My current bikes:
'84 250R- mostly stock
'85 200X- motors built to the max

'84 200m- the girls bike
Little teeth on my tensioner bracket for my 90 were stripped off. Had to get it welded together. Good thing I can adjust the tensioner with the sprocket side. Going to go put it on today, been sitting on the floorboards of my truck for the past week.
Got the 185 and the 200x out of the garage. Took a little ride up and down the alley.![]()
I took my new T3 out to the offroad park. It lasted about 20 minutes then Itrike towed me back to the trailer to get my ol' reliable 350x for the rest of the day.
Thanks, Itrike!
