Will an '80-'84 xr200 carb work on an '83-'85 200x and would it be an upgrade?

...Just a simple mild 200x
We put a 1990 XR200 carb and I think the manifold too on my buddies 85 200X. Other than that, it had a Cobra pipe and a carb I fattened up (use to be my trike) and that 200X was very fast! He raced many 200X's at TF08 and beat nearly all of them aside from when he missed the jump and he even took some 350X's.

I'm working on getting new Mikuni flatslides modded up for a 200X.
I have an original Whitebros Mikuni Flatslide so I know what needs to be done.
It will allow use of the stock air box, you'll have to run a different throttle cable and jet it for your motor but it should be a nice replacement.
Don't count on it tomorrow though, I take FOREVER to get stuff accomplished - far too many projects for one person!!

i just ordered the xr200r carb and a 200x throttle cable. are you tellin me they wont work together? (OH NO)

Ahhh, ya knucklehead....
My cable swap is related to a flatslide not a round slide.....
The XR200 carb is the same thing, just a bit larger.
The cable fits just fine.

" I actually think it is good that you have clubs where people can go and enjoy riding these things together. It reminds me of how the prisoners on death row have fun waiting for their turn on the electric chair. Fair enough, the trike isn't an electric chair, but it is about as safe and comfortable as one."
