I imagine they are refering to the excessive scrub radius and the lack of caster.. what works well for turning sharp at 7mph on grass is usually a good recipe for y pants at higher speeds..

Maybe you can use a Hyundia Excell rack, like this guy.

build something like this, youll thank me in the end. Also, i dont recogment using lawnmower type tierod ends, they fail far too easily. the stock gear to gear steering boxes on most all lawn mowers, are junk. Redo the entire steering setup just like you would on a gocart, youll be thankful you did.

i spent a lot of time looking into modifying lawn mowers to do well over 50mph with a simple mower engine, let alone a street bike engine.

If you need to know anything about how i would setup the steering, pm me.

Neat! I started to do the same thing a few years ago. I was given the mower and bought the motorcycle. After I had the bike stripped down I decided it was in too nice of shape to part so I put it back together, now 8 years later I am still riding the bike. I'm still tempted to get another bike and try again though, for some reason a mower with a huge motor sounds like fun.

Always open to trade the Sx for an X, I know, not likely, but I figured I'd put it out there.
