200E Won't Pump Oil

I have a Honda 200e bottom end setting around because it won't pump oil. It was in a trike that I bought and not long after the puchase the cam bushing seized. It was my first wheeler so I never payed much attention to the oil color, it was grey. I heard the reason it may have stopped pumping oil was because a crank bearing seized and wore the case so the pump couldn't build up enough pressure to get oil to the cam. Would this be the problem, or could it be something else? How would I fix it?

I might be off base here, but don't the 200e motors rely on the cam chain to sling oil up to the top end? I didn't think they had an oil pump.

Narr Tim the 200e has a oil pump....i'm betting it's that and not a crank bearing..

What is the most easy way to get to the oil pump? I have taken the clutch side of the case off and can see the pump, but I don't know where to go from there.

I was also told that the grey oil could have been alluminum from the case as a crank bearing wore the case, or that it was from water in the oil

Water in the oil would look kind of milky. There could be lots of reasons why your not getting oil to the top. I don't think the oil goes to the crank bearing up to the cam. I believe the oil that goes through the connecting rod bearing squirts up to the wristpin. The crank bearings just sit in the oil at the bottom of the case. There is a passage up the side of the cylinder jug to the head. If its not the journals that go through the cases all the way up to the head, its probally the pump itself. If it is the pump you will have metal in the case from the cam bearing, wristpin, piston and the gears all running without oil.

I know that there is a passage that connects the oil pump and the crank bearing on the clutch side, I have seen it when I have taken that side off. How would somehting happen to the oil pump, and how difficult would it be to fix? I ahve sprayed oil through some of the passages to see if they are clear, and they were, but I haven't split the case to check anything out, it looks to confusing.

I once had the gasket slip on the clutch cover when I put it back together, the gasket didn't seal the inter part of the oil passage so oil wouldn't make it to the top end.

I would like to check the pump to make sure I found the problem, what would be the easiest to get to it? What could be the problem?

Also, would it be worth it to bother checking the crank bearing on the side opposite the clutch?

If silicone has been used on the head, rocker box, or side cover its prolly blocking a passage.
