I have a fine 83 ATC200 but I also have a parts motor from an 82 ATC200E Big Red with the high/low range. Looks almost like an add-on. Is this so? Has it been done before? Or should I just use the 200E bottom end?

I would say use the whole bottom end. The sprocket shaft is different on the 200E.

That's what I figured. I'll go through the 200E bottom end and swap everything over once it's ready. I don't know why I'd want low range, but what the hell.
