    tires for ice

im about to purchase an 84 250r and want to ride on the ice this winter. it currently has nice paddles on it so new tires are in order. im wondering if i should find some baldies and stud em or get some nice tires and try to stud em in the winter and unstud em in the summer. what say the masses.

It seems like all the guys that are studding their tires are mostly running cheng shins. They are relatively inexpensive and I would think that once you would stud them, that you wouldn't want to take the studs back out. I'm not sure which cheng shin model they are studding but do a search for studded tires and you'll see what I'm talking about.
