    YT125/YT175 aftermarket exhaust

Does anyone have a picture of an aftermaket exhaust for one of these trikes? Personal trike picture, magazine picture anything? What all other aftermarket goodies were made back in the day for these?

I have a 125 that's got a bassani pipe, there's also a company called Pro-Tec that made bolt on rear suspension for the 175's.

With the Bassani pipes on the yt125 and yt175 there is alot of difference. The first thing is the weight difference. You are easily saving half the weight over the bulky stock system. The sound difference as in the pipes come with fiberglass packing and you could put as much as you want in or as little as you want in or none really. And in performance, there really is quite a difference there. Alot of the stock pipes would get clogged up or filled with rust and crap but the Bassani pipes really let the trike breathe. There were other companies that made pipes like DG, Kerker and several others but the Bassani pipes seemed to really be the best overall. You can still find NOS exhausts. The one on gazoos' trike, I bought new a year or 2 ago and installed it and the one on my yt175 I bought NOS and installed it. And the yt125 and the yt175 exhausts are different. The yt125 Bassani exhaust comes with a piece that bolts onto the front of the cylinder and then the pipe is installed with springs to the piece and bolts up to the stock mounting points. The yt175 attaches to the stock exhaust spigot on the front of the cylinder with springs and to the stock mounting points. I can tell you that I paid what I though was a fair price on both pipes, but they werne't cheap. Make sure you do your homework and make sure what ever exhaust you buy comes with all the correct parts. I've seen bargain pipes turn out not to be a bargain because it didn't have all the right stuff with it. My yt175 that I'm building right now has an NOS Bassani exhaust and also the Pro Tec rear suspension kit. There were some cool aftermarket parts for these trikes if you look long and hard enough and open up the wallet some. Well maybe a little more than some! LOL Good hunting for parts.

Thanks for the information Vealmonkey, I was hoping you would "chime" in. Do you have any idea who made a chrome pipe for these trikes? That's what I just picked up, not the greatest shape, but definately solid and workable.
