Please help identify my durablue axle

    Hi,

I won a older 3+3 durablue axle off of e-bay. It came off of a 1985 200X. When I got it, it was apparent that it was on a 200X but not the correct axle for the 200X. It had a crappy spacer on it to move the disk hub in further but it still runs out of spline before it seats tight to the axle bearing so they must have been running it with a good amount of side to side play( about 1/4"). I can easily fix that problem with some minor machine work but my main problem is finding a rear sprocket for it. I'm sure the axle is for a honda, possibly an 83-84 250r. The sprocket hub is factory welded to the axle, It has 4 sprocket mounting holes. The sprocket mounting holes (across from each other) are approximately 4 1/8" center to center. Can anyone tell me if this is a 83-84 250r axle, what sprocket would fit it, or what machine this axle could be for? An answer to any one of these questions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

THE 83 R axle has a 2 inch spacer on it, it could be for one of them

    If that hub isn't aluminum, I doubt it's an 83-84 R axle.

It might be an for an 82 250r. The big telling sign was that the sprocket mount was solid and not the cushioned sprocket mount like the later stock axles to have. I've been looking for an aftermarket extended 82 250r axle. You can still get them new, but the standard price is around $500 dollars. Check on the durablue website and try to compare the axle pics.

Hi, I read somewhere on here that the 81-82 250r axle is a direct bolt on to the 83-85 200x, if this is true it must not be from a 81-82r because it doesn't fit the X right. I think the sprocket bolt pattern is also too big to be that of the first gen. R. Does someone have a second gen. R rear sprocket laying around they could measure for me? The mount bolts are approx. 4 1/8" center to center across. Thanks for all of the replies so far.
