Had a similar problem with my 185S. I trimmed the ends of the plug wire, checked all the wiring and found out it is a bad kill switch.

I wish I had a scanner. I have a trouble shooting and value table for the CDI , coil, pulse generator, and A.C. generator.

AC generator Lighting coil is good if there is continuity between the white/yellow wire and ground.
AC generator Exciter coil is good if there is continuity between the black/red wire and ground.

Primary coil resistance (tab to ground lug on coil)= 0.2-0.8ohm
Secondary coil ( Plug Wire to ground lug) resistance=8-15k-ohm

The CDI is fully transisterized. My meter won't read my module (black box) correctly.

For the Primary test, test from the male wire plug and the closest mounting tab.
For the secondary test, test the other mounting tab to the end of the plug wire (with spark plug cap removed).

The plug cap has a resistor in it, but the book doesn't provide values for it either.

someone on here woudkl probelby give you one. they can also be had off ebay for not too much either. i do't knwo if any of the others off the parts bikes are workign units, so i'd rather not send them off incase they re bad.

runaway, have you checked the stator to see if it is good? They are known to go bad in this style motor and there is a realitively cheap and easy fix. Here is a thread that may help: http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/s...oil#post465181
