hey, why does my 84 big red just click when i press the starter button? sounds like its coming from the starter solenoid. motor doesnt turn over just clicks then nothing.. battery isnt flat either

Pull the starter off and see if it spins freely. Starter might be froze/locked up.

it might actually be the battery, maybe it has enough charge to make the dash lights and headlight on but not enough to turn the motor over, put a charger on it( if you haven't already) and check to make sure, if not i would first check ALL connections for corrosion and rust, simply the cheapest way out of it if you get lucky, i used to have that problem with the starter relay on my old truck.

Try cleaning off your terminals on your solenoid that is mounted on the battery box. Sometimes you can get a long handled screw driver and jump it off that way. I've had them go out before and all that happens is a fast clicking.
