Question '88-'89 TRX 250R Hondaline AERO NOSE COVER

Scored a NOS Hondaline hood/light cover recently. Hondaline refers to it as a"AERO NOSE COVER" I'm just curious, how many (if any), would be interested in a quality reproduction cover, with the lower warning decal. I was thinking of possibly checking into a mold being made and having these "repoped". They occasionally turn up once and awhile on ebay, but usually worse for the ware. These were a popular cross country racing item seen in many GNCC races in the late eightys. You very seldom find a nice, unused NOS piece.

Here it is semi- installed on an '89 resto project I'm currently working on. The OEM finish is not as shinny as NOS OEM Honda white plastic. It's kind of a dull looking piece similar to the older MAIER stuff. It came in the original Hondaline plastic bag and wrapping, so it's true to it's original dull finish. Any opinions are appreciated!

Hey guys, your not alone. I'm not so sure if I love the looks yet either. I just like to collect the rare Hondaline accessory items. I hope to have this '89 looking just like the one pictured on the '89 Hondaline accessory brochure. I've got the wider Hondaline front bumper and a rear whip flag. My brother who loves quads, said the same thing about the hood cover, "I always thought those things were butt ugly". Well..... rare is cool right??? -Andy

I think its a great part and can understand what you are trying to do by getting the related hondaline items for the restore and trying to have it look like the one pictured. As far as having it reproduced....probably a huge waste of time and effort
Wikipedia "All Terrain Vehicle" Definition excerpt
Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.

Thanks. I really thought there might be more interest, but that's why I posted the thread, and question. I guess reproducing them would also somewhat lessen the rarity. Thanks for all of the replies and comments guys!

HEY Buster Brown, I am a new member over here on 3WW but I was searching info on the NOS nose piece and found you and this thread. I thought that you may want to know that a bunch of guys over on atvriders would like to make a mold out of that hood and start to produce it in carbon fibre, just thought that you might want to know. Sounds like there actually might be some use in a mold of that part......that is, if you still have it.

    Thanks
