Thumbs up '81 ATC250R Complete Resto, Looks nothing like stock!

Well it's been a year since I started the resto. The only thing on the trike that hasn't been modified or upgraded is the footpegs, coil, and a couple nuts and bolts, absolutely everything elso on the machine is newer or aftermarket or modified in some way. Alot of the parts I got right from alot of you guys. The already welded frame broke on me last winter and cracked in 3 other places so I figured it was time for a new one.
Here's some of the parts, '82 frame courtesy(rugabugdouglas), +3 PK swingarm and 2+2 axle(sykolincoln), ITP tires and rims(grundlegrabber), rear brake idea and bracket(200x newby), mugen pipe from ebay but I believe bigbore was selling them and I got the last one from the seller mile high ink. All the other parts/odds and ends I got from Ebay and Dennis-Kirk. The front brake master cylinder looks to me like it's from a CR250r tell me what you guys think I got it off another modified R. The dry weight I believe was about 270 lbs., which is quite an improvement over the stock 301. If you'll notice I listed a machined CR exhaust flange which was intended for this pipe, my brother is a machinist and turned the end of it until it was small enough to go in the stock jug so I didn't have to use the restrictive stock flange and reducer. The rear brakes are super sensitive and I love the idea 200xnewby thanks again. The machine really isn't an 81 anymore with a frame swap but the engine is. I bought it for $175. I now have over $1800 put in to it. The tree took about 8 hours to completely polish. Also i polished the levers, stator cover, clutch cover, forks, and sprocket. The axle was so rusty I bead blasted it and chucked it in a wood lathe and sanded it smooth, polished it and cleared it, eventually I'll have it sent in to get chrome plated. The gas tank is an IMS and the front fender is an 85-86 maier.
It was once an Ice racer and had a pretty modified engine already with a recent top end. Its no 300 or nothin but it came with stiffer clutch springs, a race ported jug, milled head with alot of compression, boost bottle, and its bored .080 over to a 262. When I got it I think he put the stock pipe and carb back on cause there was a homemade reducer in the oversized carb boot. I got everything listed in my signature I did to it and with stock gearing if you went to the bottom of 5th leaned on the tank and without finessing it as it hit the power band it would keep pullin the tire up until you let off. You gotta pull back to get it up in 5th now with the 13-36 gearing and the +3 swingarm. My brother can pop the clutch on his 200s in 4th and do a wheelie too but, my point is it had enough umph to do it on its own which I was surprised with for not a having a big bore kit or anything like that. Before anyone says anything I realize I had the boost bottle upside down in the picture, I plan relocating it and also the seat is ripped on the left side. It may not be quite as cool lookin and obviously not as fast as some of yours but its sure a blast to ride. I haven't seen a first gen R thats this modified so it's something new and I'll try to keep adding pics . Please give me your input and tell me what you think and thanks again to anyone that provided me with parts!

Nice ATC!!! One of the best ones I've seen. How do you like the extended axel and tire combination?

DO NOT send any thing to whats his face (dirt-face/crasher) here on the board. What a scum bag. He screwed (stole) money from me and screwed me on my ME360 and Hondaline 300R engine rebuilds.

A # plate would really add to the racer look. Just my 2 cents.

I like it. And if you don't plan to put a headlight a number plate is a very good idea.

I cant even describe how sweet that is. I hope my R will look half as good as that. When the first gen's get done up like that i think they look more badass than any other trike. You have one awesome machine.

Looks sweet. What a difference getting rid of the balloon tires makes. Much more sporty.

Thanks, Ya I'll sure try to find me some different pegs, I'd like to find or make my own that got the 45 angle at the end, perfect for powerslides, and I'll see what I can find for a coil.

I love the whole rear end setup. The way it was before with stock everything it was a real sucker to handle and you when you mod an engine you gotta have the chassis to handle it. I love the stance, no wobbly hub extensions, just 2+2 axle and 3+5 offset rims. The "PK performance plus" swingarm is also much better. The way it was before the front end was comin up wether you liked it or not, but now I can control when I want it to come up and I can squeeze the trigger a little harder too. Ya the number plate would give it a much better look, I really want one cause I had thought about flat-trackin it this summer but I dont know if ill be ready yet since I've never done it before, If I do I'll throw on some 18" hoosiers. Anyone got any other flat-track suggestions as far as gearing or anything let me know.

    Looks Good!

I like the tank. I didn't know IMS was still doing a tank for the '81 - '82 r's. Yiu should have had this done a year ago...I had to buy 3 roached out dented R tanks before I found one that would work for me.
