    help to find a part...please!

    i need a recoil for my 86 yamaha 225dx.
    there is one on ebay, but its a rebuilt one and cost $100!
    i just need one that works.
    if anyone has one, or can find one online, please PM me.
    if anyone knows of a salvage yard in Maine, id like to know.

    yeh, did that.
    i really feel that a working recoil(not like the one that came on it that turned the motor backwards) will make my machine run.
    this is the 1st atc iv had, and every day i see it sitting outside i want to ride it more and more!

    doesnt work. the electric motor is dead, and the wiring looks toasted.

    Have you tried push (or tow) starting it?

    yeh, tried tow starting it. the road was wet, and the tires are for sand so they dragged most of the time. i did get it to fire and run for a couple of seconds. im sure it would run if i got a pull start and tuned the carb right. kinda hard to do that tow starting it. also, the police came and told me not to tow it again...lol
