My atc70 has bad throttle response when i give it gas to go in 1st gear it runs about half a second to a second after i push the throttle. whats going on?

My atc70 has bad throttle response when i give it gas to go in 1st gear it runs about half a second to a second after i push the throttle. whats going on?

could have choke on
could have clogged exhaust
could have clogged intake/air filter
could have damaged reeds
Gas screw could need an outward turn or two on carb
Points could be gapped too widely
Just look for all those things, you'll probably find the problem, hopefully!

The screw in the bottom center of the carb bowl that surrounds/connects to the main jet is hollow and should have a smal hole or slits in the bottom of it to allow gas in and up the main jet. Check to see if it is all gummed up.
