    84 125 M no spark?

Hi yall. I have a 84 125m that worked wonderfully until today. My kid last rode it 2 days ago and he said nothing seemed unusual. Today no start. It turns over but when I pulled the plug and held it to the exhaust it made no spark. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? My boy is bumming.

    Thanks

    Ben

have you tried a new plug? always start with the easiest/cheapest fix, you'd be surprised how simple it is sometimes. i bought an 86250sx for $100 once, kid said the timing or valves were messed up so it wouldnt run. put in a new plug and it ran like new.

also, to the site. i am not too familar with the ignition setup on your model, but many others on here are. if the new plug doesnt work, don be afraid to ask as many questions as you need. enjoy your stay.

    change the plug
from there check to ensure the wiring is connected to the coil
then from there it gets deeper.

Check what the other guys said and also check the coil ground on the frame.

Thanks guys. I am going to check what you said. I wish this thing was as simple as my 250 r. What sucks is we had a trip planned this coming weekend so I hope this doesn't get too complicated. If it does, I appreciate any and all help.

It was just the plug. Ran out and got a new NGK to replace the ragged champion. Runs like a charm. Thank You Gentlemen!
