    Fork modification (pvc)

Well, I did the PVC pipe idea to try to stiffen my front end up on my 200x. I jump a lot, and needed a stiffer ride, so Im trying it out. Are you supposed to just put the pcv pipe on top of the top spring after you take the valve cap nut off? Thats what I did. At first I tried to put in a 1 inch long piece of tubing in each fork, but just could not get the springs comrpessed and start the nut on at the same time. x So I used 1/2 inch length for now. (still had trouble getting the caps on, they went on by a miracle) It works out pretty good tho! The forks are a little stiffer than before. I still want to take the 1/2 inch long pieses out, and put the 1 inch pieces in, so I was wondering if you guys had any good ideas on how to compress & tighten at the same time? Keep in mind I had the 200x on a atv jack with the forks off the ground the whole time. Are there any tricks to it? Thanx again. )

You're doing it the right way. The limiting factor to how big a spacer you use is how big you can go and still get the cap on. If you could put a large socket on top of the cap it would give you sort of a handle that would make it a little easier to get it started. Just don't cross-thread it.

Large socket helps but even more if you put a 12" extension on it and have someone apply pressure while you turn it.
