atc 70 rear plastics almost hit tires

i just picked up an 83 atc 70 and the plastics are all but touching the factory size tires. is it possible for the rear seat attachment on the frame to be squashed from bigger guys riding? it doesnt look squashed. does anybody use any spacers in between the plastic and the frame?

I would guess that the fenders are sagging.

Well it does sound like the plastics are saggin. ALso check to see if the tires are over inflated. You could also check the mounting area on the frame to see if its bent at all.

IF the tyres are the original OHTSU ones its probably that they are over inflated. The fenders would have to sag quite a long way to touch the tyres if they were the kenda scorpion replacements, as these dont grow in size with inflation, as where the original OHTSU ones do
