i had to run some used tractors to a wholesaler today. this guy also deals with used atvs. we got to chatting about a minty 200s that he has for sale and he mentions having a 200x. i told him i'd take a look thinking it is a 1st gen pile of crap. most of the old trikes around here are beat to death and not worth fixing. i figured maybe for parts if the price is right. well, we walk to his barn and there in the back corner i see white rear fenders. i ask where its at and he says back there in the corner. i walked over to take a look and the whole thing is white. it was getting dark but i tried to squeeze between the other 3 machines and get a better look. its definetly a 2nd gen but not sure on the yr. the plastic can be used but is cracked pretty bad. the seat cover and foam look to be bad as well. i noticed that it is missing the rear brake caliper and grab bar. after a quick look, i ask whats the deal with it? he says its his sons and he would surely cut it loose for 3 bills. the bike supposedly runs but could smoke a little, needs the rear caliper, grab bar, front wheel bearings, and looks like it will need the front forks rebuilt. i have no pics but what do you think? a 2nd gen 200x for 300.00 that runs. is this a fair deal? what should i look at when i go back to check it in the daylight? are any parts for this bike unobtainable? give me some opinions before i buy it or walk away.
