    Difference between 300ex and 400ex?

What the difference? I know the 400 a-arms are longer, and obviously the engine is bigger but what else?

    a 300ex is basically a old 250x

a 400ex is closest related to a trx 250r....chassis wise
    80s......185 atc, Yamaha tri-moto 200, 85 200x with tons of work
90s......89 Suzuki quad racer 250 (raced 250 A class for 6 years, late 90s.. custom framed 250x with long travel shocks and a built 350x motor.... built Honda 110
00s...... chomeoly framed 350 RX with all the goodies (thanks to my bro)
    2012.....Replaced the 350x motor for a 444cc YZ426

Always wondered if the 400ex was an improvement or not over the trx250r design? Frame only of course?

300ex is a fun little quad. I had an '01. The first toy I ever bought for myself. I got bored of it pretty quick and upgraded to a 400 but for what it is it's great.

The 300ex is a sport quad by having a clutch, no racks, and a little bit of suspension travel. I own a 06 300ex and it is a blast to ride. It is a great quad for my wife and I enjoy riding it more than she does. It is sporty and has some sweet pep in the air-cooled motor. It is too narrow to consider for track riding and the suspension is only for trail riding. The 400ex is the direct descendant of the unforgettable TRX 250R. Is it better frame wise, yes. The suspension was the leak link on the 400ex just like the 250R. The 400ex has potential and you still have people racing them due to the great handling. Really I have been surprised that Honda has kept the 300ex around or 300x in 09. I don't think it fills any gap in the atv business, but it is still here after its debut in 1993.

There decent. I think the 250x seems to be a little more snappier though. But they are a beginner quad and dont really impress me much compared to even a 200x. My friend has a 330ex and it really isnt much better than a piped blaster.

I don't think there was a lot of difference. I am sure the 400EX frame is a little taller to accomdate the 4 stroke, but I have heard that the majority of it was the same...
Many quads for sale. 400EXs, Z400, 450s ect.
