    New 86 250r

I traded my 07 525 outlaw and a bit of cash for this tonight. It is an 86 with a brand new installed last night ESR 310 with trx9 porting, cool head or whatever esr sells, the set of flat track fenders that are on it, and 2 sets of rear what appear to be oem fenders, set of paddles with wheels. It also came with new boysean reeds installed last night. Seems to be very tight, which I'm sure those are the original tires. Has twist throttle, funky grips, headlight and front master cylinder guards. It is not jetted correctly yet be a few days before I get time. I have always missed my old 250r, I had plans of getting a trxr but this deal came up so I took it. I for sure plan to clean it up, jet it perfect then not sure after that if I will keep it or get rid of it. Might just keep it and buy a trx or a wild 300.

What brand is that pipe? The silencer is a rpm or rps?

Looks kinda like an old Paul Turner maybe?? For some reason doesn't look right on the bike, like if it was made for another bike perhaps.. have you run it yet to see how it performs?

Yeah I'm kinda excited about it Harry.

I haven't ran it yet other then just in nuetral. Previous owner filled the crankcase clear full so im having clutch troubles. Clutch didn't seem to want to work. Removed clutch, plates and disks look ok. Basket is worn and has a clutch spring boss broke off.

Also he had a new seal for the shift shaft so I replaced it and removed a hose that was between shift and housing. It was there to keep the shift shaft from going to far in and loosing contact with the shift cam. Everything looks normal didn't really see anything out of place to cause that.

I also realized the frame is 1986 but the engine was painted black so i started wondering but the clutch has the 86 style. I was chipping some paint and someone painted it black and very crappy at it.

    That's a Richter(sp?) Privateer silencer. Old school.

The band of black lines running around it was all I needed to see.

Yep thats it. It will more then likely be gone soon as I can find a new exhaust. I figure with this esr 310 kit with the porting it has it needs a pipe that will let it work correctly.

ESR has 3 porting options, 7,9 and 11. None are good, decent at best. ATC5 or Paul Turner High Rev will work good for that 295 motor. Stock crank?
