Tecate petcock scam

This dude is getting absurd money for what looks like a banshee petcock. I just bought a brand-new Banshee petcock for my 85 Tecate and it looks just like this. I paid like $25 and it should bolt right on. I'm pretty sure this dude is just re-selling Banshee petcocks at an inflated rate.

Yes it is just a modified banshee petcock. I have been in contact with this seller about this. He modifies the outlet so it points down instead of to the side, but you can use plain banshee one just as it is.

Well it's not a scam if he has to recoup labor costs. To each his own........if you know better than don't buy one. There are lots of people who use there knowledge about interchangeable parts to make a profit from those that don't know.

There are lots parts that fit the tecate that come from other sources. I saw a set of 86 Tecate radiators sell for $20 shipped that I forgot to bid on.
It's like Banshee brake calipers and other calipers like on the LT250R. Same manufacturer different mounting bracket (and banjo bolt?). Banshee brake calipers= cheap and everywhere. LT250R rear caliper = $60 used on ebay. Hell, Banshee brakes probably work on a Tecate too, you just swap the mounting bracket.

I just bought a used Banshee petcock for mine. I had no idea they were only $25 new, I think I paid like $20 shipped for a used one! Crap, well at least it will be better than the stocker.

Yes deffinetly a good idea to compare the cost of a new part to a used part before buying. I've seen plenty of 200x stuff you can get new for not too much more.
