there is a local jap hibachi grill that we go to pretty often. very good food! Well i have seen others drinking this jap beer for some time. I have wrote off beer for quite some time. Well we went this last weekend an i say W.T.F. GIMMIE ONE OF THEM JAP BEERS! If my spelling is correct it was called SOPARRO. About the size of a bud quart! Well that was some damm good ass beer!!! Anyone else drank this stuff? I have gave up on beer since 04 but this stuff was bad ass in my opinion! an i have not seen it for sale anywhere.

I have had some of that and I thought it tasted like rice, and I know I burpped it for days. I personally would rather have German beer. Faxe is some good stuff to mess you up.

I believe it's spelled Sapporo. What else would you drink while watching The Fast and the Furious - Tokyo Drift?

3 cheers to that. It sure is good, and also China's most famous beer. The Germans colonized that area of China (Shandong Province) and the Chinese have kept the German's recipe for making beer intact ever since.
The city is Qingdao and the beer is Tsingtao. Both are pronounced the same.

Sapporo seems much more readily available than Tsingtao in the US though.

I'm huge into trying any beer I've never had and I'm usually drinking something obsqure (sp), one time brews etc. Chinese beer is drinkable, it's mostly lager which is what most US beers are so that would explain why you guys like them, it's similar to what you are used to.
I agree with Howdy in a big way on the German beers, those are my favorite. I also enjoy Belgium and English beers as well.

I have to say, I enjoy a good beer. Most American brands are just nasty. Give me a good European (German and Czech) or Oriental Beer, and nothing is better.

Here are the Japanese ones I have tasted and they are all great.

    Asahi
    Sapporo
    Orion

Tsingtao is actually a China beer, but is very good too.
    86-87 Tecate ROCK!

Ride fast...........brake late............and Slide the rear!

as i speak w you i am sitting in china.. and enjoying some local brews, but most taste weak, like a miller lite or somethg, tonight i went to a buffet w american foods and beer was on tap, with a sign that said "not for young to drink".. yeah right, most of the 15-18 yr old were sucking it down like water..
Ride it like you stole it! And never look back! They are too far behind to see!
