    N.Y. Ice Racing Lets get it going

    Well I see some posts about some ice racing and was wondering whats up with the NY. Ice Racing schedule? Lets get some dates and Ice conditions and all have a good time.
    This winter has been perfect for Ice and it will be great for us to all get together and do some racing and other stuff Bring a sweet video cam or two. Helmet cams bump up the racing and would make for sweet video with all the rest of the vid.
    Ok lets see if N.Y can put out some serious races with lots of 3 wheelers.

    Just hold your horses.... never fear... there will be the 2nd annual Ice racing event on Conesus Lake/Dansville in the not so distant future... more details will be available end of next week, so keep your weekends in early february open.... more details when I have more details....

    We are racing in Greenwood Lake this weekend. Saturday is on the big part of the lake on the West Shore. Sunday is at the northern most part of the arm of the lake.

    Woo hoo

    Im down and almost ready to go.
    Need a bigger rear sprocket and a 3rd brand new chain as I will need a longer one. If not I can run as is.
    I just saw that they are racing the cars on Oneida lake the weekend of Feb 14 Im looking to see where the big Ice races and drags are gonna be.

    I have my ice tires and should have them mounted this weekend.

    Are ice studs really that much better then sheet metal screws? Studs are expensive!

    10 inches of ice in whitesville at the rod and gun club, races are jan 24th. my daughter is running the 110. i just picked up 1500 ice screws for 30.00 andover ice races should be coming up soon.
    chrisd, any chance that greenwood lake is in the town of greenwood?

    It's actually the name of the lake and the village. If you want to map it online the zip is 10925.

    Ice Screws

    Fox the Cold Cutters are well worth it. Great Traction and handling. Also my tires havnt gone flat in the year since I studded em up. I guess if you just want to cruise the lakes regular screws would do but from last years experience you will always come across someone who will want to race and thats when the Cold Cutters come in handy. Its worth the one time investment. I need to get set up proper again. Cutting another dogbone down and dropping her, but I really need a bigger rear sprocket. Cruising and smaller ovals are fine but I like those big tracks

    i am tryign to find tires and rims to stud dup with cold cutters. does anyoen know any cheaper alternitives compared to the actual ice screws. but work better than the sheet metal screws.

    Thats what I am wondering, I just can't bring myself to spend $100 on studs I will probably use once or twice a year.

    You can get 1000 studs for $70 from Dennis Kirk. If you want a decent set up then you'll have to buck up for them.
