    Sprocket combos

Can some of you guys throw me some sprocket sizes that will work great for my Tecate with 18"s. I didnt think about it last year when I got it finished and bought an $80 sidewinder chain that will now be way to short. I believe I have 13 up front and 37 in the rear. With the 18"s its way to slow and it sound like its gonna blow. Looking for a good setup that will work with the 18"s in the winter and 20"s in the summer. Thanks
Should be totally ready to race in a few weeks once I get some money coming in and get setup. Hope no get togethers are scheduled before then.

It all depends on the size of the track you are running or if you're just being a lake lizard and cruising around looking for people to "beat up". If you're running a 13/37 now and want to keep your chain then why not go to a 15/35? You'll be taking two off the back and adding them to the front so your chain should still work. Going from your 20's to your 18's is taking 10% off your total gear ratio. The sprocket swap will more than make up for it and give you some more top end as long as you've got enough motor to pull 5th.

    Thx

John thx for the info on that ratio. I have two new chains and wasnt looking forward to a third. One can go on the 200X
Once I get sprockets all I need to do is cut down a dogbone and lower her a few inches and I will be ready to go. I even have some money at the moment I think so its all very doable. Cant wait meet everyone and have some fun.
Looks like there will be some Green in that sea of Red, White and Yellow.
Anyone remember where that gear ratio webpage for the 3 wheelers is? I had it a month ago but lost it when I redid my computer. Cant remember who on here posted it.

One thing to keep in mind. The length of chain you will need will change when you lower the bike. I would assume that you have enough adjustment to make it all work anyways but I just wanted to give you a heads up on it.

Yeah, it also gets a little weird when you start to get really low. At stock height the chain will tighten when you sit on the trike but if its low enough the chain will loosen when you sit on it. My buddy was fighting a "skipping" problem with his Banshee last winter and he couldn't figure out WTF was causing it. One day he sat on the machine and noticed the chain got loose. That was what was causing his problem.

    hmm

I guess we will see whats up. I got that new chain last winter when I put the +2 Cal-Fab on the Tecate for Raffas Ice Fest which I missed. It might be to short as I looked at it today when I went for a spin and its close to the beginning of adjustment. Totally didnt think about other factors. If its to short thats gonna mess with my chances to go on some of these rides. Spockets and a chain is some big bucks. Other than that I can say my Tecate is pretty much finished except for those glued on grenades in my motor and some 10" rims for the 20"s in the summer
