holy freaking cow batman! They want to raise the price on milk!!!! lol I thought $3.50 was enough for 1 gallon, epscially when it cost more than diesel... and the way they do it is by cutting production. which means whole sale on beef!

It takes fuel to produce milk...
But in Canada our system is different. And for the last few months, we don't produce enough milk to keep up with the demand.(reread the article, and the USA are also in deficit).
Just think that the store make more money with the milk than the milk producer does.

I know that at work we dump 30-70 cases (each case is 2 Gallons) of milk a week because Dairygold doesn't give us enough time to sell (we get 1 1/2 weeks until the milk is outdated). Same with yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, whipping cream, half and half, sour cream and a few others.

I bought another freezer to fill up, after work I usually go into the trash and get the milk back out, its usually 4-5 days until it is outdated, and is still good for 5 days after that if its refrigerated.
