Thanks for the info syko. I wish I had access to a 83-84 250r jemco pipe for comparison, the mugen cylinder itself is no taller than a stock cylinder, the 300r is actually taller but the fins on the mugen head are taller than both other heads.

Hey why don't you PM bigbore and see if he has any of the those mugen bigbore pipes left? I think he's running one of those on his CR480 topend with no mods needed. That would solve you pipe problem and get you the full mugen kit!

Man oh man. The open class at the drags is gonna get it's clock cleaned. You aiming to take down the big green monster of Marks?

I have one of those pipes but they are 81-82 250r pipes and just wont fit, the fat part of the pipe is in the wrong spot and interferes with the tank and head. They never had a mugen pipe for the 83-84 model so now I'm stuck with having something made lol. I don't know if I'll be beating Mark though he's still 150cc bigger, and I thought he was running alky and a dragpipe, mine will just be on gas with an inframe pipe if I can get one that will fit lol, I may look into a dragpipe

Bummer! I'd say since you're just drag racing the outframe would be fine. I know I saw a Jemco pipe for a CR500 that looked amazing. You may wanna ask them what they could do for a outframe for you.

Yeah that would look pretty sweet an outframe built in the same fashion as their inframe pipes I'm not completely sure what I'll do yet but I'll be finding out real soon.

Well I've had a change in plans with the mugen motor, the 300r is staying exactly the way it is and the mugen 360 motor is going in a first gen 250r. From what I understand the 360's really shined in desert racing so I figured Id go that route with the build, I plan on running a ball saver seat in blue, works shock, +2 swinger, progressive fork springs, maybe a wide axle, vf3 reeds, billitt clutch basket, I already have a new mugen pipe for it and an air stryker 38mm, first step though is to start looking for a NICE 81- 82r preferably 82, I want to start with something in VERY GOOD condition so I won't have to spend a whole lot of time or money just fixing crap and focus on upgrades like listed above.

A few years ago They were available in the UK for around $300 US. It requires mods to make it work. They were for the 78-80 CR250.

Really lookin nice. That thing should be pretty wild. What is the comp. likely to be, will need a strong leg I am sure. I have a old Dirt wheels mag where they compare the Mugen to the Honda 300 kit. It is kinda a direct bolt on kit Verses a more intense mod kit. in the mag they say the mugen is to powerful for regular riding and should be left only for closed course racing. Makes you want to ride it even more. lol

He's been hanging out with friends and riding and racing. I look for him to be back more often when it gets cold out.
